It Finally Ends

[Barny Cusp] The end of an era! And the beginning of a new one!* We finally wrap up the longest (only) storyline that we’ve done. Hard to say if it was worth it since we still made up pretty much all the stories on the day (except where we thought of a joke and then took 4 comics to get to it). From here on we’ll be delving back into the original format of one of the Cusps complaining about some perceived injustice and the other pointing out the cracks in their sanity. Since when they agree on anything the world gets apocalypsed.

On the gaming front my housemate picked up Guitar Hero: World Tour on the weekend so we’ve given that a run. We had a choice of GH:WT and Rock Band but, since we live “down under” we were faced with a quandry. The rest of the world (well, America anyway) has Rock Band 2 already and so we’ve had to do some research on the two games to work out which one was right for us. GH has the advantage in more initial mastered tracks, whereas Rock Band has way better downloadable content. This might not be a problem but we have a PS3 and so far the instruments aren’t cross-compatible. But supposedly they’re going to be so we went with GH:WT in the hopes that the sturdier instruments would last until next year when we could get a hold of (hopefully) Rock Band 2 and, most importantly the AC/DC pack because I wanna rock out on the world’s greatest riff. Maybe not the world’s greatest song, but ou can’t have everything.**

So we determined that drumming is great, but tricky since no one knows how to drum. The tracks vary a fair bit and GH”WT has a few annoying holdovers from previous games (unlocking tracks, one player can cause team fail and therefore frustration) that Rock Band seemed to have worked out spoil the fun a bit. But once we get a bit better at it and someone sits through the tutorials and work out what all the wavy lines means I think it’ll go a lot smoother. Also, we didn’tquite get up to Everlong but that will rock hard.

ROCK!

*This is pretty much how eras work.

** Where would you put it?***
