Long Road To Ruin

[Barny Cusp] Morning folks. In good news for the industry it seems Apple is dropping the DRM (Digital Rights Management) from the music in their iTunes Store. Still not doing it for audiobooks or videos, but at least it’s a step in the right direction. I like using Macs - I like the OS and the look and feel of them I like their design aesthetics but I really hate their (seemingly typical) approach to making their prodcts as anti-competitive and narrow as they can. Oh well.

Hopefully their marketing skillz will create bad publicity for DRM - which is rubbish in every way. A system that punishing the innocent for daring to want the same product as pirates is incredibly stupid. Companies need to find ways to create extra value for their customers that do the right thing that people with pirated copies cannot get access to. This means a vibrant, legitimate community that supports the companies, creates a friendly vibe and rewards users instead of treating them like the villains and installing spyware on their computer. In short they need Gaming Kudos made by us, ICNH Games. So more on that later when we have a few more things to show you.

But this is going to be a big year for the Cusps. Me and Johnny have a bunch of projects that we’ll be putting together this year that, we think, are going to help create a gaming community that we can all feel good enjoying.

In news about the comic - there is one and here it is. It’s at least partly about our deep, abiding love of DRM.
