U-Blew-It
[Johnny Cusp] I had been given a gift voucher to U-Brew-It, a micro-brewing franchise where you use their equipment to brew your own beer. It’s like infrastructure as a service for beer. Over the XMAS break I had booked in the 3rd
of January to bottle my beer (actually cans but it reads weird). When my brother and I arrived the place was closed. Not out of business, just not open for business.
On Thursday, I went back to try again. They were completely unapologetic about the entire XMAS break stuff up which irked me somewhat.
As I was canning my beer I noticed there was a big old cockroach in the can lids. I asked one of the staff to get me some new lids and he went off to clean the container and get fresh lids. While this was going on the manager of the place said to me. You know, we just can’t get on top of this cockroach problem.
Does he ever want me to comeback?
“Welcome back sir. Please use this malt when making your beer it has our lowest cockroach to malt ratio for extra flavour.”
I had pretty much made up my mind that I wasn’t going to come back but the last straw came not longer afterwards. I had canned 100 beers to this point and had run out of cans. I asked for some more before being informed that one only received 100 cans and any extra beer would be discarded. I know that 100 is a nice number but when I pay for all ingredients, rental on equipment and the cans (a separate cost), I expect that all of my beer is made available for me. Not just an arbitrary amount.
Everyone knows that whilst aesthetics are wonderful, the more beer you have the less it matters.
So we then went and wrote a comic to commemorate this special… thing.
