I hear that Knut is psychotic from being the centre of attention for so many humans during his formative years that he can now no longer relate to other polar bears.
Personally I see this as an equivalent to “child star turns drug-addled delinquent and knocks over 7-11 stores” syndrome. In which case, the picture is perfect.
